Miss Universal Beauty is a sisterhood of beautiful, intelligent young women who are making a difference in their communities. The Miss Universal Beauty pageant was established to give young women a platform to build confidence and career-enhancing skills, while providing scholarships and opportunities to help them realize their dreams.
Meet The Director
Shanay Ball-McCastle, the Director of the Miss Universal Beauty pageant, is an accomplished lawyer and owner of McCastle Legal Services. She currently works at Johnson Matthey as in-house patent counsel for their Health Sector. The Cheltenham, Pennsylvania native is an alum of West Chester University, graduating cum laude with a B.S. in Pharmaceutical Product Development. Shanay also attended Drexel University - Kline School of Law, graduating with a J.D. and intellectual property concentration honors.
Shanay is no stranger to the pageant world, having competed in the Miss Pennsylvania USA pageant in 2003 and winning Miss Black Pennsylvania USA in 2006. During her reign as Miss Black Pennsylvania USA, Shanay's platform was "Promoting Beauty through Excellence and Education." She founded the “Miss Black Academic Diva” scholarship award to acknowledge young women for their academic excellence. She has also served as a judge and emcee for countless fashion shows and as a speaker at many events, including graduations.
Shanay’s parents introduced her to modeling at an early age. Shanay has appeared on the American television soap opera, “As the World Turns,” and most recently in print, with her 2-year-old son Wyatt Jr., for the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services’ Keeping Kids Safe Campaign. Shanay resides in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania with her husband, Wyatt Sr., son, Wyatt Jr. and brand new baby girl, Weslyn.
